This innovative concept is the result of a detailed biomechanical mapping (BioMap) study into the movements of the human body during physical activity. Extensive testing on famous champions has enabled Northwave to create a line of products that follow the body's movements during athletic activity.
• Closure System: S.B.S. :
S.B.S. (Step By Step) is an innovative micrometric closure system, that gives a precise and stable adjustment of the ankle strap. S.B.S. is the first mechanism in the market, that allows to control the pressure release on the foot arch “step by step” during the riding, thanks to the special buttom “release”.
• Heel: Omega
Guarantees excellent grip and maximum protection combined with the advantage of low weight. The rigid profile stabilizes the heel even under maximum load. The rear air vents allow heat to escape for comfort.
• Sole: ST-8:4 with Wood Lasting Insole :
ST-8:4 - Minimum thickness and high degree of stiffness, thanks to the three layers of carbon provide excellent stiffness.
Equipped with the Air Flow System and interchangeable rear heel. Designed for use in competition, it guarantees perfect transmission of power to the pedals.
The new thermoformed wooden arch support for assembly WLI – Wood Lasting Insole) represent the most important innovation in the new shoes collection with carbon soles. The wood features high performances:
- The layers of wood are treated with special bonding agents to protect the foot from external agents like water or perspiration
- The structure is broken down into two sections: a more flexible part that adapts to the shape of the foot, and a stiffer core to make powertransmission more effective.
- WLI helps dampen the vibrations transmitted by the pedal and isolates the foot from any possible overheating of the sole. The wood with which the arch support is made is an assurance of a technical product absolutely compatible with the foot’s
anatomy and is the result of the new BioMap concept
