Campagnolo Bora Ultra 35 Wheelset
Feedback from professional riders is the lifeblood of Campagnolo and the Bora 35 is the product of this. The Bora 35 is an aero, light, comfortable wheel that can satisfy almost every demand of racing or leisure riding. In short it's the ultimate do it all wheel. Close to the weight of the legendary Hyperon the Bora Ultra 35 is stiffer and aero leaving the rider with virtually zero compromise on any terrain.
Used in the 2013 Tour de France by Nairo Quintana and the Movistar team the Ultra 35 came out the gates and immediately proved it's pedigree.
The new BORA 35 is perhaps the most versatile wheel in the line-up and offers serious performance advantages in almost every situation.
The new addition to the Campagnolo performance wheel lineup is as at home on the steepest climbs as it is on the fastest flats.
Light enough to climb with the best, reactive enough to please the strongest sprinter and efficient enough to shave seconds on the flats this wheel does it all.
This new wheel is ready to handle anything you can throw at it.
To develop the Bora Ultra 35 the engineers of the Campy Tech Lab could not merely shrink the Bora Ultra Two (50mm) but rather develop a rim structure completely dedicated to this new platform.
Working diligently to develop new carbon layup specifically for this profile the Campagnolo engineers were able to produce a lower profile and extremely lightweight rim, whose stiffness rivals that of its higher profile counterparts.
This translates into a more efficient ride with increased power transfer.
No power loss due to lateral or vertical flex, lower aerodynamic resistance, increased stability in crosswind situations all in a lightweight package.
To raise the bar even further Campagnolo has employed its engineering resources to further improve the already impressive braking performance of its full carbon wheel systems.
Having already researched, designed and produced internally high-performance brake pads specifically made for Campagnolo carbon wheels, the Campy Tech Lab set its sights on perfecting the braking surface.
To ensure optimum performance in all conditions as a complete braking system, the brake pads would function even better with an improved braking surface.
The outcome of this research produced the new 3Diamant surface treatment which, using advanced machinery and state of the art diamond tipped precision tools, eliminates imperfections caused by non-homogenous resin deposits and allows the brake pad to work directly atop specially woven carbon fibers.
This new process eliminates the "breaking-in" period, improves braking performance under both wet and dry conditions and creates a more linear and smooth overall braking performance.
These new developments have been incorporated in addition to the technologies that cyclists have come to appreciate in the rest of the Campagnolo performance wheel line.
Just as the rest of the performance line wheels, the new Bora H35 incorporates the following advanced technologies:
- rim dynamic balance
- Patented Carbon molding technique
- CULT ceramic bearing technology offering the smoothest ride with the least amount of rolling resistance available. 9 times smoother than
- Handmade by Campagnolo technicians, manually inspected and certified by Campagnolo staff. ( Campagnolo Identity Card).
