American Classic Tubeless ready rims can be used for conventional clincher without comprimise, in fact it could be argued that the rim hook is better than that of a conventional clincher rim. Tubeless ready means these wheels can be used for tubeless tires and should this be selected we use American Classic's lightweight alloy valve and tubeless rim tape.
Hubs are either Industry 9 Torch or Chris King R45 - both top arguably the best hubs on the market, opinion differs depending on which coast you live. The i9 as well as the King have distinctive freewheel sounds.
Spokes are Sapim Laser which we have found to deliver a ride quality and reliability like no other, in the hands of an experienced builder the Laser is what makes this wheelset special. We offer Sapim Race for a stouter build as well as CX Ray for those who like bladed spokes but be aware these increase wheel weight.
Nipples are alloy hex lock which we address from the back so your wheelset arrives with no wrench marks on the nipples. The hex nipples allow us to bring spoke tension up to the max the rim can manage and this sets this wheelset apart for road feel and reliability.

Tubeless & other tire options: We offer the Stan's road tubeless conversion for these wheels and we recomend this is the ultimate tire choice for speed, reliability and comfort. Many of our clients are reporting no flats for the entire life of the tire. The Hutchinson Fusion 3 is a perfect all-rounder and the new Schwalbe Ultremo ZX promises to be the fastest most reliable tire on the road. Veloflex handmade cotton open clinchers are a nice option as well or if you are going for the tubulars the Vittoria EVO SCbrings back memories of old-school fast.
