3T Wheels
3T are now offering wheel and here at Glory we are really excited to get out and test them.
The all-carbon Mercurio LTD 60 features an aero-profile 60mm-deep,23mm-wide tubular rim whose shape is said to be, “optimized for stability
in the random airflow of real-world conditions.” Unique to 3T is how the spokes are anchored in the rim rather than conventional spoke holes, 3T have incorporated T-shaped pockets directly into the sidewalls and reinforced the surrounding carbon structure with radiating fibers. These act like the supporting members of a suspension bridge.
The first wheel available will be the Mercurio 60 LTD, which is a 60mm deep, 23mm wide carbon tubular. The 60 will soon be followed up by a 40 and an 80. Carbon clinchers will follow and these will be called, Accelero.
The carbon rimmed Mercurios will feature a Formula 1 derived brake track coating that should exhibit similar braking performance in both wet and dry conditions. Weight for the Mercurio 60 LTD rims is around 390 +/- 10g with a complete wheelset weight of under 1,400g. Pricing for the 60s will be around $2750 for the set.
